Dataman Quick Start Guide

Quick start guide for programming from a master device, from a data file and saving to a data file.

Which Programmers Does This Guide Apply To?

This guide applies to the Dataman 48Pro2C, 48Pro2 and 448Pro2 programmers. In addition, this guide applies to the Dataman 40Pro, 48Pro, 48Pro+, 448Pro, 448Pro+ and MEMPro programmers.

Programming a 27C010 EPROM, master device is an EPROM

  • Install the master into the ZIF socket, lower justified.
  • Click “DEVICE” on the menu bar.
  • Click “Select EPROM/Flash by ID”.
  • Read the message, if displayed and click “Yes”.
  • If more that one device has the same ID, select your device from the list.
  • Click the “Read” icon. (Wait until done), Note the checksum.
  • Remove the master.
  • Insert the blank EPROM.
  • Select the blank EPROM if is different from the master EPROM.
  • Click the “Program” icon.
  • A program dialog box is displayed. Click “Yes” to select the default values. (Wait until done)
  • Click the “Verify” icon. (Wait until done)
  • The programmed EPROM is now ready to use.

Programming a 27C010 EPROM, data loaded from a computer file

  • Click the “Load” icon
  • Browse to the correct directory.
  • Select the correct file type.
  • Select the correct file.
  • Click Open.
  • Insert the blank EPROM
  • Select the blank EPROM
  • Click the “Program” icon.
  • A program dialog box is displayed. Click “Yes” to select the default values. (Wait until done)
  • Click the “Verify” icon. (Wait until done)
  • The programmed EPROM is now ready to use.

Saving a file to Disk

Note: It is assumed that data is already loaded into the programmer memory. For example, loaded from a “Load Master” operation.

  • Click the “Save” icon
  • Select the correct path for the file.
  • Enter the file name.
  • Select the file format.
  • Click “Save” and the file transferred to the hard drive.
